Stop & Think
At Heaven's Gates I know we'll meet,
I'll see her once again.

She left this earth after only a few short years,
and she had so much to give.

I knew her only but a little while,
and she taught me much in her own quiet style.

She taught me math, she took such pains,
and when I finally found the way,
she'd look at me and say:

"I knew you could do it,
all you had to do was "STOP AND THINK."

And if someone else had done the same,
She'd still be here, yes, even TODAY.

In Memory of Heather Clark (May 5, 1975 - October 5, 1996),
this poem is dedicated to one of my dear teachers and friends.
