Jeremiah 18:4:
"And the vessel that he made of clay was marred in the hand of the potter so he made it again another vessel as seemed good to the potter to make it."
We are the clay in the potter's hand. To be molded, we have to become available. When we become available, God will make us a vessel to be used. Like a potter molds his vessels, we are molded into a vessel God can use. However, what we think God has in store isn't what He has.
A vessel has to be fired to become strong. God uses suffering, trouble, and hardships to make us strong. Sometimes the vessel breaks under the heat of the fire due to imperfections (God makes nothing imperfect). That's when we're disobedient we break. When we run from, or become unwilling to do God's work, we're breaking down the vessel God has made. After the fire the vessel is strong, but remember the fire (God) made us strong. The clay without the fire is just clay. As a vessel God can use us. He can hide His Word in us, put His talents in us, remove things from one vessel to another (carry one another's burdens), use us to hold water, and clay to help make another vessel (witness, and lead people to Jesus).
