Seek and You Shall Find

Matthew 6:31-33:
31 Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed?
32 (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things.
33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

God can answer all of life's problems in verse 33 of this text.

Verse 31: in this verse is the beginning of it all. God is telling us not to worry about anything - food, water, clothing and shelter. I know it is hard not to worry about these things, but listen: if God created us don't you think He will take care of us? Without food and water, we will die. In some places, without clothes, we would freeze or burn up. This is where faith plays it's all important role. Place your faith in God and worry not.

In Verse 32, we have a promise. Jesus said that His Father knows that we need these things in order to live and in order to survive. We need these on a regular basis. So now we know that God knows of our needs. Sort of a seeing is believing kind of moment, huh?

Verse 33: the answer to all of life's problems. Seek God first. If you find yourself cornered, look to God, He is the way out. Problems with a boyfriend or girlfriend - look to God. Problems at work - look to God. For you see, if we keep our eyes on God, we won't get wet like Peter did. If we look to God, He will lead us through life's intricate mazes with no problems. If we look to God, He WILL meet our needs.
