Lost Creek Thoughts and Things: The greatest law of the universe is that of Cause and Effect. All deeds or actions contain within themselves their own consequences. Newton termed this his Third Law of Motion: For every action there is an equal and opposite reaction. The Bible expresses this as the law of "sowing and reaping". Galatians 6:7-8 states: "Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting." The greatest principle of human conduct is that of Fairness The only fair approach to life, and the proper basis of all law and rules is to treat others exactly as we ourselves would like to be treated. The Bible describes this attitude with what is sometimes referred to as "The Golden Rule": "Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets." (Matthew 7:12). The three greatest attitudes or personality traits which one can possess are: Discernment specifically, the ability to discern between what is real and what is not, what is merely temporal and what is eternal, what is of value and what is valueless, with this result: Non-attachment towards those things which are of this world only, a total lack of desire either to have them or to hold on to them. Devotion towards that which is true, real and eternal or, more accurately, The One Who is True, Real, and Eternal. For more information, E-Mail Me. |
